What is your theological background?
 

I'm Father Mike, a former Roman Catholic Priest, and now a part of the Ecumenical Catholic Communion, a progressive and inclusive Catholic Tradition. I am a member of a Benedictine monastic community. I live in Bardstown, KY.

I earned a regular master’s degree at seminary and further pursued graduate studies in liturgical and sacramental theology at The Catholic University of America. 

I believe everyone has the right to celebrate their marriage regardless of who they love. I have a unique gift to create customized weddings for couples from different Christian faith traditions, non-Christian and spiritual backgrounds. My goal is to make your day one to be remembered for years to come.

How long have you been performing weddings?

I've been celebrating weddings and holy unions for some 40 years. As a Catholic Minister, I welcome the opportunity to celebrate your wedding regardless of who you love and your desire to make a lasting life commitment. Therefore, I am ready to celebrate your wedding day with you.  

What do you like BEST about weddings?

First, I like to look into the eyes of the couple standing before me and see the depth of love that they have for each other. Secondly, I am moved to see couples hold hands as they profess their vows to each other, and for me to be able to place my hand upon theirs and offer words of support and that nothing will ever overcome the strength of their love.
