What is your theological background?
I would say that my theological background is very diverse. I did not grow up a Christian or a part of the Church. That has significantly impacted how I see the world and the role of Christians in it. I have been a part of non-denominational churches and everyday evangelical churches. My “home” denomination, where I am ordained, is the Churches of God, General Conference. It is a small evangelical denomination with a huge world impact. I currently serve in a United Methodist Church. All of these groups and churches have helped shape my understanding of who God is and who I am in light of that.
How long have you been performing weddings?
I entered pastoral ministry in my mid-20’s during the early 2000s. I have been performed a diverse group of weddings (traditional and non-traditional) for over 17 years.
What do you like BEST about weddings?
Weddings are one of my favorite things to do in ministry. Someone once said that there is nothing better than a good marriage and nothing worse than a bad marriage. I believe that. I am humbled by the privilege and honor to help couples take their first steps together as husband and wife. I especially love crafting custom weddings that reflect the diversity and creativity of the couples getting married.
